About Backgammon
Backgammon (Tavla in Turkey) is a 2-player race game combining luck and skill. Roll two dice and move your fifteen checkers toward your home board; land on a lone opposing checker to send it to the bar. The first to bear all checkers off the board wins.
How to play
- Roll two dice and move checkers that many points toward home.
- A point with two or more of your checkers is blocked to your opponent.
- Hit a "blot" (a single opposing checker) to send it to the bar.
- Once all your checkers are home, bear them off — first to clear all wins.
Tips & strategy
- Make points to build a "prime" that traps opponents.
- Don’t leave blots within direct dice range when you can avoid it.
- Balance running fast vs. holding anchors in your opponent’s home.
